About Us

Children’s Center is a private, non-profit child abuse intervention center accredited by the National Children’s Alliance.

Our mission is to support and medically assess children who are suspected victims of abuse or neglect.

We support Clackamas County children and families experiencing suspected physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse and neglect, including drug endangerment and witness to violence. Children are referred here by law enforcement agencies, child protective workers, parents, teachers, health care providers and others concerned for their welfare.

WE PROVIDE

  • Sensitive, child-focused abuse assessments, including medical exams and/or forensic interviews—which minimize the trauma of children having to be examined or interviewed multiple times.
  • Referrals to counseling, domestic violence resources, housing, and other services to help keep families healthy and safe.
  • Education and training about child abuse awareness and prevention—and tools on how to respond.
