For Parents/Caregivers

Supportive parents and caregivers are our most important partners in preventing and helping children heal from traumatic childhood experiences. In addition to supporting individual families and children, our team provides presentations and trainings to parent, mentor and volunteer groups throughout the county.

Our goal is to build upon the strength of participants, share quality resources that promote healthy child development, and empower caregivers to proactively protect children. These free presentations are usually 30-60 minutes and may be delivered in English or Spanish.

Presentation Topics

• Child sexual abuse prevention
• Understanding trauma and its impacts on children and caregivers
• Recognizing signs and symptoms of abuse and neglect
• Responding to abuse as a mandatory reporter or bystander
• Services and programs of Children’s Center
