Get to Know Deisy
Deisy is the first face families see and the first voice you’ll hear if you call Children’s Center. As the Clinical Support Coordinator, Deisy helps children and families feel welcome and supported at Children’s Center. Deisy joined our team in March, and we feel so fortunate to have her here at Children’s Center! Get to know a little bit more about one of our newest team members.
Tell me about your role at Children’s Center. What does a typical day look like?
I am the Clinical Support Coordinator, and every day is different which is nice! I normally greet families and partners and everyone else who comes in and guide them to where they need to go or be at, collect paperwork from families track information on Salesforce, provide information, route callers to the appropriate person, make charts for the following day (and occasionally the same day) and many more things.
What do you enjoy about working at Children’s Center?
Everything! Is such a great place to be at and everyone is so amazing, friendly and welcoming it feels so warm…(kinda like when you make cookies and you take out the first batch and is freshly out still a bit warm and with a super cold glass of milk is so satisfying and good just feels right!) feels like that feels right. It feels like a family. Everyone works so hard and it’s a joy to work here.
Where did you work before you joined the team at Children’s Center? Did you know you wanted to work at an organization like this?
I was working with El Program Hispano Catolico working with low-income Latino families, I knew I wanted to keep working with families and children making a tiny difference in their lives, in a nonprofit organization. I did not think it would be at Children’s Center, but when I saw an opening here and read the mission more in-depth I was like “Yep, definitely going to apply! I want to join this organization!”
A non-work related one — what’s your favorite type of ice cream?
My favorite ice cream that I always get is pralines and cream with a bunch of mini gummy bears on top!
